- Create 2 layers in photoshop.
- In the 1st layer place your image content.
- Click the 2nd layer.
- Select White as the foreground & background color (by clicking the color swatches on the toolbar)
- Click the gradient tool, and choose the "opaque to transparent" gradient (the 2nd gradient in the palette)
- Choose Image > Image Size.
- Measure width and height in pixels for images you plan to use online or in inches (or centimeters) for images to print. Keep the link icon highlighted to preserve proportions.
- Select Resample to change the number of pixels in the image. This changes the image size.
- Click OK.

Opacity controls the translucency of the brush color as we paint. When the Opacity value is set to 100% (the default value), the brush color is opaque, completely blocking anything below the area we're painting over from view. With opacity set to 100%, a black brush stroke looks, well, black.
FLOW: Flow allows you to build up ink over and over again. The more times you go over something with Flow as your setting while using your Brush Tool in Photoshop, the more ink you are building us. Imagine the effect a marker has on a piece of paper. Every Stroke lays down more in.

With the photo layer selected in the Layers panel, go to the Filter menu and choose Convert for Smart Filters, so you can sharpen without permanently changing the photo. In the Filter menu, choose Sharpen > Unsharp Mask.
