The Triumph marque is currently owned by BMW. The company hit financial problems however and in 1936 the Triumph bicycle and motorcycle businesses were sold, the latter to Jack Sangster of Ariel to become Triumph Engineering Co Ltd.
Triumph ranked in seventh place with an overall failure rate at 29%. While Triumph couldn't compete with the Japanese manufacturer's for reliability, they did score higher than Ducati, BMW, and Can-Am. Despite its age, a classic Triumph Bonneville is still fun to ride on modern roads. With a curb weight in-between a Honda Rebel 300 and 500, it's not intimidating. And though its drum brakes aren't quite as effective as disks, the bike stops relatively well. Plus, the transmission is easy to shift.
Triumph Bonneville models through 2007 had twin carburetors, but in 2009 fuel injection became the new method for fuel delivery. To maintain an authentic look, Triumph disguised the fuel-injection components to resemble traditional carburetors.

The only difference is that the regular Bonneville is 790cc and the T100 is 865cc. Not a lot of difference, no matter which one you buy. The extra u pay for the T100 is just for the extra 80-90cc and the color scheme. even the dimensions and body parts are the same.
The only 1970 Bonneville 750 all original Triumph still in Existence - 894 original miles. Original Owner. Rare bike only 211 of these bikes were made and approved for AMA competition in 1970. This is the only one that did not go into competition.
Triumph Street Twin : Great street bike, can be used for touring as well, if equipped with a good wind screen and panniers. Has ABS , Traction control, and ride by wire. The engine does heat up quite a bit in traffic and on long rides, this is the only downside i find for these.
Perhaps its biggest asset though is that the Triumph Street Twin is good for beginners. Unlike some of the other motorcycles aimed at the novice rider, being able to remove the A2 factory fitted restrictor after you get your full licence means that you will get plenty of years of enjoyment out of the Street Twin.
