The only Targaryens alive during Game of Thrones were Viserys, Daenerys, Jon, and Maester Aemon. In the books, there may just be another one: Aegon Targaryen, the son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell.
During her time, Melisandre infamously resurrected Jon Snow after being killed off back in season five. This crucial detail has lead fans to theorise that Daenerys will go on to be resurrected. The Dragon Queen made quite an impact in Volantis, as she free countless slaves, and was generally benevolent.

Daenerys is known for her long, silver-white hair. However, in the series A Song of Ice And Fire, she spends a period of time completely bald. In the books, her hair is also scorched off her head, and she spends much of her journey to queendom bald, slowly re-growing her white hair.
He is 14-years-old at the beginning of the series. Jon is a major POV character in A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons. He has the second most chapters total in all of the books.
Dany has three dragons, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. Dany, fearing that this could happen again and to appease the people of Meereen who are now fearful of them, makes the decision to lock her dragons up. She manages to corner all of them but Drogon, who has gone on the lam following his killing.
Dany and Jon haven't even met in the books. There is all sorts of foreshadowing in the books but it is not yet even clear yet whether all this clues into a sexual/romantic partnering or a strong friendship. Fan service of the most cheesiest and badly written variety.
Emilia reads along with the scripts. She never overpasses the show though. Kit has definitely read the first four books, and while he may or may not have read ADwD, he does know about Jon's death. Maise's mom read AGoT to her during Season 1, no clue if they kept doing that.
The birth of Dany's dragons is one of the most significant events in the story. Dragons were extinct from the world for over a century before Daenerys hatched her petrified eggs, giving life to Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion, and earning her moniker as the Mother of Dragons.
The Dothraki culture is, as author George RR Martin has stated, inspired by the Mongols, the horse-lords who swept westwards from Central Asia in the 13th century. The dark-haired, copper-skinned riders, organised in khalasars, each with a khal at their head, are nomads.
Daenerys Targaryen dies in the throne room, feet away from the Iron Throne that she's sought all her life, the same throne she barely had time to touch. Her final whereabouts are unknown, as Drogon the dragon appears, destroys the Iron Throne, scoops up his mother and flies away.
Who plays the dragon queen?
Ultimately, she was killed by Jon Snow. As shocking as it was to see this turn, book fans were much less shocked. In the books, Daenerys' darker side shines through more often. The turn will certainly feel less rushed than it was in the show and it will focus less on her being spurned by Jon Snow.
The final book that Jon is in is A Dance With Dragons. And, as of his last scene in the book, he's dead (or nearly dead.) Like on the show, in the books Jon is stabbed in a Night's Watch mutiny. On the show, in Season 6, Jon is also stabbed and it's very clear that he dies from his wounds.
She's afraid of what she might do. Just because Dany has achieved great and admirable things doesn't mean she can't eventually give in to her worse impulses. And turning a likable and sympathetic character into essentially a villain who must be defeated is a cruel twist fit for the creator of the Red Wedding.
For the past two years, both the readers of George R.R. Martin's books and fans of HBO's Game of Thrones have concentrated on a revelation about one of the series' major characters: Jon Snow. Jon Snow isn't who he thinks he is. Jon Snow is actually half Targaryen, the oldest son of Daenerys's oldest brother.
The first answer to the question of who ended up sitting on the Iron Throne is: No one. The second answer is: Bran Stark and Sansa Stark. Allow us to explain. In the Game of Thrones series finale Sunday night, a triumphant Daenerys Targaryen revealed tyrannical plans for the realm.
Instead, they confirmed, Drogon took her to Volantis – the homeland of the Targaryens and the dragons they commanded. Samwell Tarly noted as much in the finale episode, revealing he saw Drogon flying in that direction.
Dany Went Off Book When She Decided To Torch King's Landing On 'Game Of Thrones' Spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5. It seems that Daenerys took Missandei's final words a little too literally.
Game of Thrones: Kit Harrington on Jon Snow killing DaenerysJon Snow (Kit Harington) was one of the most iconic chracters in the HBO series Game of Thrones. After his brutal death at the end of the fifth series, he was resurrected in the sixth series, despite George RR Martin's sixth book still upcoming.
Dany visits the maegi Mirri Maz Duur to help her heal her Khal Drogo, who was stabbed by his fellow Dothraki, Mago. Her blood magic also results in the Khaleesi loses her unborn baby, which may or may not be a sacrifice.
Rhaella and Aerys married when they were very young, and Rhaella gave birth to Rhaegar when she was only about 13–14 years old. In contrast, she gave birth to Dany when she was 38–39 years old.
Season five of "Game of Thrones" ended with the same big cliffhangers left in Martin's last-published book, "A Dance with Dragons." Jon Snow was assassinated by a group of mutinous Night's Watch men, and Dany escaped from the dragon pit in Meereen on Drogon's back.
