Hit Broadway musical "Dear Evan Hansen" is comingto the big screen. Universal Pictures has acquired movierights for the six-time Tony Award-winning musical, thecompany confirmed to ABC News. Ben Platt is reportedly in talks toreprise his role as the title character, Evan Hansen, forthe film adaptation.

Popular (Wicked song) "Popular" is a song fromthe Tony Award-winning musical Wicked. It is performed bythe Broadway company's original Glinda, Kristin Chenoweth, on theoriginal Broadway cast recording. The song is about a popular girl(Glinda) trying to help her unpopular roommate (Elphaba) becomemore popular.
It was announced last month that the movieadaption of popular musical Wicked was moved off of itsoriginal December 20, 2019, release date. Holzman wrote the bookfor the stage version of Wicked and is now working on thescreenplay.
Wicked is a prequel to The Wizard of OZ and goesthrough the life of Elphaba who is a nice girl until thedisapproval of society turns her Wicked. This is the storyof how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and itinvolves love, loss, hatred, envy and an unwillingness to acceptanything that is different.

The Phantom of the Opera
The longest-running show inBroadway history officially opened on January 26, 1988 andis still playing at the Majestic The Andrew Lloyd Webber musicalwon 7 1988 Tony Awards® including BestMusical.A Dorothy-free musical about the witches of Oz. Awoman-centric musical retelling of The Wizard of Oz, Wickedfocuses on the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba (AmyRoss).
As in the book, Elphaba is born with greenskin. In the musical, however, the cause of her pigmentation is dueto her mother having imbibed a green elixir before beingseduced by Elphaba's biological father. Elphababecomes upset by this.
Fiyero is then transformed unwittingly into theScarecrow by Elphaba even though he was killed by theGale Force in the novel. He helps Elphaba stage her deathand runs away with her out of Oz to start a new life, where theyboth die in the book (though in the end Elphaba'sdeath is questionable).
The current Wicked cast is led by Jessica Vosk asElphaba and Amanda Jane Cooper as Glinda, with Ryan McCartan asFiyero, Kristen Martin as Nessarose, Isabel Keating as MadameMorrible, Kevin Chamberlin as The Wizard, Jye Frasca as Boq andMartin Moran as Doctor Dillamond.
On Broadway, actors make a union-mandatedminimum salary of $1,900 a week (though more than likely, the"Hamilton" actors make more). That amounts to a conservativeestimate of $98,800.
