Ps- the original dbz is really looong. There is another series known as Dragon Ball Z Kai. It is basically the same, just less filler and better animation. In conclusion, DB Super is totally worth it, but it would be better to watch it's prequels if you already haven't.
1 Answer. The Dragon Ball Super Broly movie is set after the Dragon Ball Super series. The movie is made in a way where you don't really need to have any prior knowledge of Dragon Ball Super or even Dragon Ball in general(Although, having knowledge with regard to the same would definitely help).
Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies (1986)
NON CANON; a completely different story, where the same characters have different roles fighting a new villain. The anime aired its last episode(Japanese) in March 2018. And it's been almost 2 years since the anime went on hiatus. According to the rumors, Dragon Ball Super season 2 release date is confirmed to be July 2020.
Movies in order are as follows :
- Dragon ball : Curse of blood rubies.
- Dragon ball : sleeping princess in devil's castle.
- Dragon ball : mystical adventure.
- Dragon ball Z : Dead zone.
- Dragon ball Z the movie : The world's strongest.
- Dragon ball Z : the tree of might.
- Dragon ball Z : Bardock - the father of goku.
Movie 10 should be viewed after the Great Saiyaman Saga, and Movie 11 after the Babidi Saga. Movies 12 and 13 can be saved until after you've finished the Kid Buu Saga. Bardock the Father of Goku should be seen right now, and the history of Trunks can be be seen after Mr.

If you want to watch it in English, watch Dragon Ball Kai. If you're planning on watching the next show in Japanese, watch Dragon Ball Z. If you want to watch it in English, watch Dragon Ball Kai. In my not so humble opinion, FUNimation's English dub of DBZ is pretty much the worst way to experience the series.
Secondly, the main difference is that Kai lacks the filler content of the original Dragon Ball Z, and stops at the end of the Cell saga. By filler I mean content not originally in the manga. Kai is more faithful to the manga than the original anime was.
I recommend starting with Dragon Ball, followed by Dragon Ball Z and then watch Dragon Ball Super if you wish to watch all the episodes in order and in succession. There is also Dragon Ball GT which isn't canon with the original series.
Yes, the Dragon Ball movies are pretty good for the most part. Just watch the show and then the canon movies and everything will make sense and come together. Also there is a prequal manga about Bardock and the beggining about the sayian race. Forsure read that after you are done with everything though.
I recommend watching DBZ first. With the basic details yeah probably, but its best enjoyed if you have seen everything up to this point beforehand. so you could rewatch Dragon Ball and then watch DBZ Kai to reacquaint yourself with it all but its probably not required.

Dragon Ball Super comes after Dragon Ball Z. It's form original creator, not like GT (Dragon Ball GT isn't connected to this). (This "IMDB version" stands for both Japanese and English).
Dragon Ball Is on Netflix! The good news for Manga fans is that Dragon Ball is now on Netflix. The not so good news is that it's currently only available on Netflix Japan. This means you can only enjoy the adventures of Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and the others if you have a Japanese IP address.
To answer the question no, Goku does not die of old age, as already made apparent. He died so many times and brought back but by the end he becomes guardian of the Earth enabling him to live forever.
Dragonball isn't even necessary to watch to be able to watch and enjoy DBZ. While they are connected as DBZ is the sequel series. you can go back and watch Dragonball later if you want to see the whole story. But it isn't necessary to watch in chronological order to follow it.

Toriyama did, however, come up with the Dragon Ball GT name, which stands for "Grand Tour", in reference to the series having the characters travel through the universe, and designed the appearances of the main cast. Toriyama himself referred to GT as a "side story of the original Dragon Ball".
Goku's tail got cut for the first time by Puar, then got torn off by his grandfather, and finally was removed by Kami. Either way, because of what Kami did, it did not grow back. Eventually, in GT, Goku had to fight Baby Vegeta and he lost because his kid body could not bear Super Saiyan 3.
If you stopped on Cell at the end of DB Kai you must watch the entire Boo's saga which starts on episode 217 on classic Dragon Ball Z. After that, you could watch Super or get some spoilers on the Battle of Gods (2013) movie, which is mostly the same story, but shortened.
Goku is introduced in the Dragon Ball manga and anime at approximately 11 or 12 years of age (initially, he claims to be 14, but it is later clarified during the Tournament Saga that this is because Goku had trouble counting), as a young boy living in obscurity on Mount Paozu.
If you're looking to follow the manga story, or what is “canon”, then yes you can skip it. There are a lot of interesting concepts from Dragonball GT, like SSJ4, that make it worth watching for some people. It's considered non-canon and has some controversial points but lots of people still enjoyed it.
DragonBall is more lighthearted and funny than DBZ. It's definitely worth watching. I like DBZ better, but I can definitely see people liking DragonBall more. You should watch both in order, it's definitely worth it.
