The WPS button is not on the printer. This button would be located on your router itself. If your router does not have a clearly marked 'WPS' button, please use the CD with your computer to perform the standard wireless installation.
The WPS button is located either on the front or back panel of your Linksys device. Some Wireless-G routers may not have a WPS feature. Refer to your product documentation for the detailed features of your router.
Setting Password
- Display printer status on web browser.
- Select Security. The menus are displayed.
- Select Administrator password setting.
- Select Change administrator password.
- Enter a password, and then select OK.
- When the completion message is displayed, select OK.
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is a method that allows you to easily connect network devices to a secure wireless network. Follow the instructions below to set up your connection to the wireless LAN using WPS. Press the Setup button . Use the or button to select Device settings, then press the OK button.
Make sure that the printer is turned on. Press & hold the [Wi-Fi] button on the top of the printer until the alarm lamp flashes once. Make sure that the lamp next to this button starts to flash blue and then go to your access point and press the [WPS] button within 2 minutes.
Select Start setup, then press the OK button. Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon in the notification area of the taskbar on the computer, then select View Available Wireless Networks. Select the network name (SSID) you want to use, then click Connect. Enter the Password (Network key), then click Connect.
WPS Pin stands for “Wi-Fi Protected Setup” and it is 8 digit pin numvber. WPS Pin is used to make connections between a router and wireless printers and other devices. You need to find WPS Pin on HP printer to establish a connection with other device.
WPS allows a user to enter an 8 digit PIN number on the client device which is verified by the AP. If the PIN number is accepted the AP sends the WPA PSK and the client device can then connect to the network.
- Go to router configuration page then go to router settings , then as your router supports WPS then go to WPS menu of the router page.
- Then turn on your phone's wifi and go to advanced settings , there look for WPS Pin Entry option , make sure your Wi-Fi Router is on.
Press the Wireless button and Information button at the same time to print the network configuration page, and then locate a WPS PIN. The WPS PIN is printed at the top of the printed information page. 2. Press and hold the Wireless button from the printer control panel for more than three seconds.
CONNECTING PRINTER TO A DIFFERENT ROUTER WITH NO WPS BUTTON
- Make sure your computer is connected to your wireless network.
- Download and install the HP Smart app.
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Wireless light and Power light starts to flash.
- On your computer, open the HP Smart app.

Press the WPS button on your router to turn on the discovery of new devices. Then, go to your device and select the network you want to connect to. The device is automatically connected to the wireless network without entering the network password.An access point or router is a relay device which connects not only the Internet and network devices such as a computer or printer, but also one network device to another. So, your access point or router must be properly set before you go to the next setup step.

To connect to a WPS-enabled router, press the WPS button on your router or access point. Press and hold down the Wi-Fi button on your product for 3 seconds. Note: Be sure to press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your product within 2 minutes of pressing the WPS button on your router or access point.
The Push Button Configuration (PBC) method allows you to connect your machine to a wireless network by pressing both the (WPS) button on the control panel of your machine and the WPS (PBC) button on a Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ WPS-enabled access point (or wireless router) respectively.
First, go to your HP printer's control panel and then press the Wireless button> Settings button. Touch the “Wi-Fi Protected Setup” and then follow on-screen prompted instructions. Now you are driven to WPS PIN, just hit on it. Doing this, the PIN will display on the screen.
Go to the control panel of your HP Printer and then after pressing the Wireless button, go to the Settings. After touching on the WiFi Protected Setup, you should follow the prompts appearing on the screen. Now you will be prompted to PIN, tap on this PIN. When you do so, WPS PIN will be displayed on the screen.
