Today, netball is popular in Commonwealth nations, and is reportedly played by over 20 million people worldwide. It remains primarily a women's sport, although male participation is increasing in some countries.
Although Netball has been in the USA for over 40 years, it has been played and run by small cultural groups. Netball America is the first to introduce it at American grass roots level which provides an opportunity for us to create excitement in potential players at an early age and get Americans playing the sport.
Irene van Dyk MNZM (née Viljoen; born 21 June 1972) is a South African-born New Zealand netball player. A goal-shooter, she is one of the world's best-known netballers and is the most capped international player. Debuting in 1994, she represented South Africa 72 times and captained the team.
Ice hockey is a sport that is contested at the Winter Olympic Games. A men's ice hockey tournament has been held every Winter Olympics (starting in 1924); an ice hockey tournament was also held at the 1920 Summer Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee approved the addition of surfing, sport climbing, skateboarding, karate and baseball (men)/softball (women) to the Games. A total of 18 new events will be held to accommodate the new sports, and 474 more athletes will take part.

The 2020 Summer Olympics will award medals across 339 events, representing 33 different sports. Five are new sports entirely (baseball/softball, skateboarding, surfing, sport climbing and karate), while others — like basketball — see the inclusion of new events within the discipline.
The Olympic Charter indicates that in order to be accepted, a sport must be widely practiced by men in at least 75 countries and on four continents and by women in no fewer than 40 countries and on three continents.
There is no specific age limit for taking part in the Olympic Games. This depends on each International Sports Federation and the rules it lays down for its sport.
Many countries reward medalists with bonus money. U.S. Olympians, for example, will earn $37,500 for each gold medal they win this year, $22,500 for each silver and $15,000 for each bronze. Russia banned from 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2022 Beijing Games. The World Anti-Doping Agency executive committee handed down the most severe punishment to date in the years-long Russian doping saga, issuing a four-year ban Monday that will bar Russia from competing at the next two Olympic Games.
